Mother's day gifts in progress

I for some reason thought I had 2 weeks to get the purses done for gifts for Mother's day. I am making one for my Mom and one for Roger's Mom. Saturday I realized that hey Mother's day is next Sunday....So I had to get to work. I had the fabric cut out for a while but I had never gotten the embroidery patterns transferred. This is the pattern I came up with...now before anyone thinks I am a talented artist please know that I did not come up with this on my own. I took what I have seen on other peoples blogs and some of the BOM's I am doing and kind of came up with my own little pattern. Yes I did draw it myself and actually I was kind of suprised it looked decent when I was done. This is what the pattern looked like on paper. I only drew one side of the flowers next to the gate as I just figured I could flip it over and it did work out fine

Embroidery pattern for Mother's day purses~(The one on the bottom, the one on the top is for another purse.)

This is one of the embroidery strips done~

Here is the front panel of the purse~

One down and one to go, I was able to sit down and do the embroidery in one evening though it was a long evening. I am taking a break from it today as my fingers were hurting. Hope to get the next one done by tomorrow night (late at night of course). Then I just have to put the purses together and they will be done. I don't think I will have time for the wallets or coin purses but oh well such is life.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead of them.

Blessings,Joann

  1. I LOVE it. So pretty. My Rachel and I were just saying yesterday how we need to learn to make some purses. They had a booth at the quilt show where a lady was selling purses and they were pretty, but not near as pretty as yours....anyway, the smallest one was $48!!! Yeesh. And they were selling like hotcakes!
