My apologies to one and all...

I have been so busy lately I have not been keeping up with people whom I consider to be my treasured friends. Please accept my apology. We now have official confirmation that Mattie will be deploying mid to late August for a year and a half to Southern Iraq. My mind has been on very little else since I found out. No emailing people, not making phone calls that I would like to make and no sending letters or cards. I would like to ask you all to please keep my Mattie in your prayers and me too, I seem to be a basket case most of the time now. I almost wish I wouldn't have found out he was going until about a week ahead, now I have months to think about it and so far that has not been going well.

We are celebrating Mother's day tomorrow at a park we have always gone to for Mother's day. Jennifer, Chris and the kids will be there and the rest of my family. I hope to have pictures to post this weekend.

We also ordered and should have delivered this coming week our new flooring for the living room and hallway. We ordered Pergo in a nice light color. It will be a big job to put in but knowing my wonderful husband it will look beautiful when it's done.

Happy Mother's day to all my friends near and far.

  1. My prayers are with you and your family -- I know you are proud of your son for serving his country, but I can only imagine how hard it must be on you, as his Mother.
Blessings to you this Mother's Day!

  2. I can only imagine the anguish you must be feeling, but also I feel there is a lot of pride there for what Matthew has decided to do "serve and protect",be strong Joann and rant away your feelings and fears we are many on here who care, cheers Vickie
